waiting in anticipation
Everything’s about to change — and you seriously can’t wait. But before you rush off to finish the baby registry or paint the nursery, make sure to take some time just for you. It’s a big thing that you’re doing right now, growing a brand new life. You deserve to remember it!
Your session is held in my bright and airy studio where you’ll find everything you need to be comfortable, from sparkling water stocked in the fridge to comfortable places to sit. Through it all, you can count on my guidance to help you find flattering, simple poses that show off that growing bump and your pregnancy glow (it’s a real thing, trust me!) If you are ready to book an Iowa City Maternity Photographer, contact me today.
One of my favorite parts — and hopefully yours too! — of a maternity session is the client closet. It’s a selection of pretty, luxe gowns or cute comfy looks that I love to share with you. Whether you’re hoping for a simple yet stunning look or want to turn up the elegance, I have bump-friendly pieces to fit your style. You can also add on hair and make-up to your session to really create a pampering experience.

I’m here to answer any questions you have. I want you to come to your session ready to be taken care of. Expect a preview of the client closet, hair and make-up recs and more.
Fill out my contact form, and I’ll get back to you right away. A signed contract reserves your space on my calendar, then let the pampering begin! For maternity, I recommend your session in weeks 32-36; for newborn, we’ll choose a session day that’s 7-10 days after birth.
About 2 weeks after your session, I’ll deliver your fully edited images in a secure, online gallery. From there, I’d love to help you choose an album or prints! Interested in my Baby Book offering? Check that out below.
My priority is your comfort. I’ll gently guide you (and your baby) through the experience, with plenty of breaks to nurse, soothe or just take a break. There’s no rush!
So fun and easy going!

As a Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Maternity Photographer, I believe that every mother deserves to feel beautiful and celebrated during this extraordinary chapter. I'll guide you through the entire process, creating stunning images that reflect the joy and connection you share with your little one.
Typically, maternity sessions last between 1 to 1.5 hours, and it's advisable to plan for the full 1.5-hour session.
Maternity sessions are scheduled in my Cedar Rapids studio. Designed for complete comfort for your family and optimal lighting to achieve the images you see in my portfolio, all items needed for the photoshoot to take place are provided at the studio.
Flowy dresses or cute comfy styles are classic choices that beautifully highlight your bump. Soft, neutral tones or pastel shades photograph especially well and keep the focus on you. If you hire me as your Iowa City Maternity Photographer you will also have access to my client closet, taking the guesswork out of what to wear.
The best time for maternity photos is typically between 32-36 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage, your baby bump is beautifully rounded, but you’re not quite at the point where you might feel uncomfortable.
